Growing in Christ follows a same-age classroom model so students learn and grow in faith alongside their peers. Together, they explore the Bible, draw connections to the Small Catechism, and learn the traditions of the Lutheran Church.
Flexible lesson layouts and easy-to-use materials make Growing in Christ perfect for classrooms of all sizes and students of all ages. Each lesson is divided into four steps that reinforce the Bible story, using different teaching techniques.
Welcome the students, prepare their hearts for Sunday School, and introduce the week’s Scripture verse and Bible story.
Get to the heart of the Bible teachings and engage students with age-appropriate discussions, skits, and posters.
Give students a hands-on way to learn and internalize the Bible story through crafts, games, discussions, and more.
End each week with a review of the lesson and Scripture verse before closing with any final thoughts and prayer.
Each week, students across all age levels explore the same Bible story. This way, kids, tweens, teens, young adults, and parents can grow in faith as individuals and together as families.
In a Parents & Twos classroom, children learn about Jesus and experience God’s love, and at the same time their parents learn how to incorporate Sunday School and daily faith-building activities into their family’s routine. This curriculum lasts for one year.View the Parents & Twos Scope and Sequence
From our active-learning ideas, to our songs and craft time, our early childhood curriculum encourages children to hear, see, and touch each Bible story—relating God’s truth to their own lives.
These emerging readers are ready to grow and learn and wonder. Our lower elementary materials are designed to engage children ages 6 to 8 with active storytelling, games, and student materials.
Upper elementary students are asking some big questions about God, their faith, and the world around them. Our Christ-centered curriculum helps students apply God’s Word to real life.
Engage the adults in your congregation with a Bible study that challenges them to dig deeper into the week’s Bible story. Because adults study the same Bible lesson as kids, the study also provides parents with ideas for family connections during the week, and offers ideas for personal reflection and ways to prepare for the next week.
The Adult Bible Study student pages are reproducible, so you have the flexibility to make as many copies as you need for your class.
Our Summer Sunday School is a topical quarter that contains elements from both Growing in Christ and Cross Explorations, offering the flexibility you want for the busy summer months.
With a fun county-fair theme intertwined, Pray, Pray and Give Thanks helps students search thirteen Old & New Testament Bible stories to learn about the Lord's Prayer all summer long.
