A traditional classroom Sunday School for all ages

Growing in Christ follows a same-age classroom model so students learn and grow in faith alongside their peers. Together, they explore the Bible, draw connections to the Small Catechism, and learn the traditions of the Lutheran Church.

How it works

Flexible lesson layouts and easy-to-use materials make Growing in Christ perfect for classrooms of all sizes and students of all ages. Each lesson is divided into four steps that reinforce the Bible story, using different teaching techniques.

Opening

(10+ minutes)

Welcome the students, prepare their hearts for Sunday School, and introduce the week’s Scripture verse and Bible story.

God Speaks

(20+ minutes)

Get to the heart of the Bible teachings and engage students with age-appropriate discussions, skits, and posters.

We Live

(15+ minutes)

Give students a hands-on way to learn and internalize the Bible story through crafts, games, discussions, and more.

Closing

(5+ minutes)

End each week with a review of the lesson and Scripture verse before closing with any final thoughts and prayer.

Bible lessons for every age

Each week, students across all age levels explore the same Bible story. This way, kids, tweens, teens, young adults, and parents can grow in faith as individuals and together as families.

Adult Bible Study

Adult (Ages 18 and up) - Growing in Christ

Ages 18 and up

Engage the adults in your congregation with a Bible study that challenges them to dig deeper into the week’s Bible story. Because adults study the same Bible lesson as kids, the study also provides parents with ideas for family connections during the week, and offers ideas for personal reflection and ways to prepare for the next week.

The Adult Bible Study student pages are reproducible, so you have the flexibility to make as many copies as you need for your class.

Summer Sunday School

Our Summer Sunday School is a topical quarter that contains elements from both Growing in Christ and Cross Explorations, offering the flexibility you want for the busy summer months.
